The man behind the brand is designer Hamish Tame. Hailing from a small Australian beach town but now based in Sydney, Hamish has over 16 years’ experience in the business and is also Creative Director at Sunshades Eyewear. He relaunched Le Specs – an icon since the ’80s – in 2006, and it is now an international leader in fashion eyewear. Always looking left of centre, the brand is renowned for its daring, exhilarating collaborations with acclaimed designers and artists from Anthony Lister and Adam Selman to Craig and Karl.
tree distribution has been the sole distributor for Le Specs eyewear in Germany since 2019 and in Austria since 2021.
Using our in-house PR and extensive retail network in streetwear, lifestyle, fashion and specialist optical stores, we established Le Specs among the market’s top lifestyle sunglasses brands. tree distribution has showcased the brand at several twice-yearly B2B fashion trade shows, such as Seek during Berlin Fashion Week and Frankfurt Fashion Week, special-interest B2B trade shows (Opti Munich), PR & press events such as Instyle Lounge, and numerous B2C events.
We work with several rep teams to service the different channels for an array of categories from lifestyle and premium sunglasses to sustainable eyewear, blue-light blockers and optical glasses. Our approach ensures clear segmentation among the various account levels through our showrooms and by frequent sales visits to our accounts at the POS.
We service around 200 selected brick-and-mortar retailers and e-commerce specialists from lifestyle and streetwear up to premium fashion plus about 100 opticians/optometrists. To optimise in-store product presentation and maintain sales staff product knowledge, our visual–merchandising team is constantly on the road visiting our accounts.
